Though I was aware that coaching can be a very important tool in helping me achieve a better understanding on how to lead, mentor or guide, I went into these sessions not knowing what to expect or how they would add value. These coaching and mentoring sessions have been enriching learning scenarios that helped me in my role as a manager. Having to reflect and discuss your own personal gaps with the coach has helped me identify habits that were blocking my growth. Through various practical scenarios, I was able to tackle such gaps with a different approach and mindset.

Once the areas of interest to tackle have been determined, we delved into further detail of how these can be polished or strengthened, or in some cases break the pattern.

These sessions have always been an interesting and open discussion, which helped me become a better leader, manager, and mentor to my team.

After each session I felt more focused and with a clearer picture of the way forward. This is thanks to the ideas brought forward by the coach during the sessions. Of course, in order to change certain habits, one needs time and perseverance, so some worked more than others. However, as the coach mentions, personal/professional growth is a never-ending journey, and we need to keep adjusting our ways and means along the way.
